How I can help
I can help you…
- clearly express why you do what you do, who you do it for, where you do it, and how you do it
- write (and content design) your new website
- migrate, edit, rewrite, reorganise or delete content to create a more usable website
- enable you to write your new website, or anything else
I don’t do social media, but I know some wonderful people who do and would love to help.
Writing
If you need new copy for your website, publication, press release, strategy, or statement, I can help.
After an initial meeting, phone call or video chat, I can get straight to work on your project while you can rest easy, knowing that I know how to:
- write well for online and offline readers
- write well for specialists
- structure writing for your audience, reader, or visitor
If you’ve got a particularly big job or a particularly tight turnaround, I can assemble a team of writers to get the job done quickly and competently.
Experience
I’m represented by the literary agent Jess Lee at A. M. Heath and I’ve got a degree in writing from Royal Holloway. I’ve written for the publications Prototype, RA Mag, The Debutante, Frieze, Open City Docs, Art Quarterly, and Pylot, and the anthology STIM.
Editing
If you’re refreshing your website, have recently adopted new brand or style guidelines or are working on a publication, I can go over everything with a fine tooth comb ensuring your project adheres to your style guide, sounds like you and is as clear as it can be.
- understand the audience, reader or visitor
- structure content and copy
- use analytics, feedback, and research
I also offer ‘live-editing sessions’ online. Bring me a piece of writing and I’ll bring you a fresh perspective.
Experience
I’ve worked as an editor in arts institutions for a decade. I’ve worked in house with the RA, Artangel, Art Fund, and Whitechapel Gallery. I’ve freelanced with Serpentine, Arts Emergency, SLG, and Barnardo’s, where I learnt GDS principles.
I’ve also overseen anthologies from planning and commissioning to publication, undertaken sensitivity reading and editing for authors and publishers, proofread and copyedited books, correcting the spelling, grammar, punctuation, and style.
Workshopping
I can meet you at your studio, in your learning centre, online, or on a team away day.
Wherever we meet, I’ll provide a setting that enables you to forget the everyday worries of email, online training modules, funding applications, and event reports.
Together we’ll consider the problem you’re facing, establish what matters to you, and focus on expressing your voice.
Each workshop is bespoke, so let me know what you want and we can make a plan.
Experience
I’ve held workshops on writing:
- for online audiences
- using plain english
- interpretation and educational resources
I am also part of the writing collective We Don’t Write Alone. I run our weekly creative writing workshop. I’ve also delivered creative workshops to young people as part of AccessArt25 and to adults.
I give you…

space to think through the problems you’re facing, remember why you do what you do, and to get excited about what’s next for you.
Leave back-to-back meetings, requisitions, event reports, and online training modules in the office for a while. Meet with me and remember what really matters to you.
time to use your energy where it’s most needed.
I bridge the gap between curatorial writing, digital dialect, and the language that your audience, reader, or visitor actually uses.
I can communicate with internal stakeholders like content, curatorial, collections, and learning teams, as well as external stakeholders like web or design agencies.
My approach is skillful, diplomatic, and organised.

and clarity.
The cultural sector is never dull but is always busy. This can make it difficult to get perspective on what we’ve achieved, what inspires us, and what we’re going to do next.
Working with me is a chance to get the clarity you need. Step away from your inbox, your slack channels, and your work whatsapp and articulate what truly matters to you.
