We will bring back hovercraft ferry services purely for the whimsy of hovering in a craft.
In fact, hovering may be the principle mode of transport after the current trains, trams, boats and cars are allowed reach the natural end of their life. As when animals (human and non-), clothes, washing machines, objet oubliés and so on reach the end of theirs, we will put all that can be put to use from the old things to use as parts of new things.
Where new things need power they will be powered by decomposed neptune balls, harvested Sargassum, a cocktail of chicken shit and water hyacinth, the sheer force of water water or wind.
